Final candidates for Davis School principal are announced

January 28, 2013

Bedford’s Superintendent of Schools Jon Sills announced the two finalists in the search for a new Davis School principal on Saturday morning: Ayesha Farag-Davis and Beth Binoit in a letter to parents at the school.

Dear Davis School Parents:

I am excited to present to you our two finalist principal candidates for the Davis School. Both of these candidates have the vision, values, energy, personality and skills needed to inspire their colleagues, to focus on children, to partner with parents, and to lead the Davis School forward. I hope you will join us to meet the candidates and give us your feedback on Wednesday, January 30 from 6:30 to 9:15 PM in the Davis School library.

Ayesha Farag-Davis

Ayesha Farag-Davis served as the principal of the Poland Community School (K-6) in Poland, Maine, from 2007 to 2010. Because of her successful leadership, the district asked her to take on the principalship of the Whittier Middle School simultaneously (2008-2010), and then to guide the school through a complex consolidation process (2010-2012). Prior to those assignments, Ayesha worked as an assistant principal, a guidance counselor and an 8th grade teacher.

Ayesha and her family have since moved to neighboring Concord, and she is presently working on a doctoral degree in educational leadership at Leslie University. She holds a masters degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Bates College.

Beth Binoit

Beth Binoit, who presently works for the Boston Public Schools as an Early Childhood Curriculum and Assessment Specialist after recently moving back to the Boston area, previously served as Director/Principal of Early Childhood Education and Child Find for the Englewood Public Schools in Colorado (2008-2012) and as Director of ECE from 2005-2008. Before moving to Colorado, Beth worked as the Executive Director of the Cambridgeport Children’s Center from 2003 to 2005, and as a Mentor Kindergarten Teacher and Special Education Coordinator at the Tufts University Educational Day Care Center from 1995-2003.

Beth earned her M.A. in Child Development/Early Childhood Education from Tufts University, her B.S. from Wheelock College, and has since done postgraduate work at the University of Colorado at Denver.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A meet-the-candidates event for parents will take place in the Davis School library from 6:30 pm until 9:15 pm on Wednesday, January 30. (Please note corrected date!)
