Columbus day weekend brought a long road trip for the Bedford Xtreme but they came ready to play right from the start.
Grace S. danced down the right wing with the ball before unleashing a wicked shot that beat the Southboro goalkeeper.
Bedford’s Ana P. and Sophie V. continued to apply pressure creating many shots on goal. Anna K. and Amber H. played strong defense supporting Lexi G. who made some strong plays to protect the Bedford goal.
Late in the half Grace S. won the ball beat a defender and slid the ball past the goalkeeper. In the second half Bedford started strong. Some good transition play by Alyssa G. and Amber H. allowed Sophie V. to break free and score Bedford’s third goal. Soon after Bedford began to tire and Southboro began to apply some pressure.
Shannon Y. and Alyssa G. played tough defense and thwarted many Southboro attacks. Southboro’s relentless pressure resulted in two late goals, but Anna K. made some great saves to preserve the win for Bedford.
