At the Bedford Free Public Library

  • This week’s Thursday movie at the library is Jiro Dreams of Sushi, featuring sushi chef Jiro Ono, proprietor of the only sushi restaurant to earn a three-star rating from the Michelin Guide. On August 30, the library will show The Vow. Both films begin at 6:30 pm in the library meeting room
  • Adult summer readers are invited to join library staff, friends and neighbors for the 8th Annual Ice Cream Social from 2 to 3 pm on Tuesday, August 28. Stories of favorite books will be swapped, make-your-own sundaes will be devoured, and fun will be had by all. You’re invited!
  • The Summer’s End Popsicle Party will take place on Wednesday, August 29, from 6 to 6:30 pm. Participants in the BINGO summer Reading Club will receive their reading certificates. After the party, Ricardo Frota and his Rainforest Instruments will perform in an interactive family concert. This percussion concert is open to all ages.

Sing Hanson’s work on display at Gallery Seven in Maynard
from Bedford Center for the Arts
The Color Beneath, including work by Sing Hanson, Iris Lee Marcus and Jerry Wedge has opened at Gallery Seven in Maynard. Hanson’s work is well-known to many Bedford art-lovers. Her photographs of rusted metal take on the look of abstract paintings in her prints. Her work is shown with Marcus’s and Wedge’s painted panels; the colors, their depth and their textures tie the show together. The gallery is located at 7 Nason Street in Maynard.
