Fred Gordon, Veteran’s Agent for Bedford, Mourned

Fred Gordon, the Veterans Agent for the Town of Bedford, died suddenly on August 16 at 68 years of age. He had served the town and its veterans for four years, helping veterans with benefits such as housing and medical and financial services.

“Fred was a wonderful person and very committed to his job as Veterans Agent,” said Catherine Cordes, Chair of the Selectmen.  “He went out of his way to make sure that veterans received all the benefits they were eligible for.  But more than that he was their friend.  His death is a great loss for Bedford and we will miss him very much.”

Mr. Gordon’s wake will be held at the Shawsheen Funeral Home 281 Great Rd. Bedford, MA 01730 on Wednesday, August 22, from 5 until 8pm. The reception is at the American Legion Post #221 357 Great Rd. Bedford, MA 01730.

Veterans Affairs is a part of the Youth and Family Services Department of the Town. Mr. Gordon was a resident of Chelmsford.
